In Memory of Two Good Cowboy Compadres I lost a good friend, Tony Alvis, in the La Conchita landslide on January 10, 2005. We both lost a good friend in September 1998. Thinking about one always reminds me of the other. I'd like to tell you about both of them. They were really unique and wonderful human beings, and both were true cowboys.

If you knew these pals of mine you probably knew how close we where. I really miss them both. I wrote a poem a few years back that I've amended for them:
Old oak tree with limbs so gnarled and bold,
Please tell me a tale about the vaqueros of old,
Of a time when the golden bear still roamed free
And Tony and Roger weren't an anomaly.
Just ridin' in that California sunshine,
Just ridin' that trusty ol' pal o' mine,
Rockin', Rollin', Ridin'.Happy trails till we meet again. Adios, vaya con Dios, my Amigos. Home
