Granddad's father, David Jackson Bailey migrated West and settled on Bear ridge above Kendrick, Idaho about 1900. He had farmed in Nebraska between the 1880s and 1900, but finally gave up the fight with the wind and summer sun that destroyed their crops and decimated their cattle.
