was born in Clinton Twp., Franklin Co., Ohio December 8, 1837.
David died July 19, 1915 in Spring Grove, Douglas Co., NE, at
77 years of age. He is buried in the old Elkhorn Cemetery.
He married BOYD, Sophia in Moravia, Appanoose Co., IA, March 13, 1859.
Sophia was born in Ohio December 20, 1836. She was the daughter
of BOYD, Valentine and GROOMS, Sarah. Sophia died October 14,
1908 in Elkhorn, Douglas Co., NE, at 71 years of age.
Notes:
Civil War Record: David Solomon Bailey, at age 26, residence Van
Buren County, Iowa, nativity Ohio, enlisted on February 18, 1864,
in Co G, 3rd Iowa Cavalry. He was wounded severely and lost a
leg as a result of a shell that hit his foot on June 10, 1864,
while in action at Guntown, MS (battle known as Brices Cross Roads).
He mustered out September 8, 1865, in Atlanta, GA.
He removed to the Omaha, NE area possibly Elkhorn before 1889.

iv. Margaret Mahala BAILEY was born in Moravia, Appanoose Co., IA 1870; She married Edward FOWLER , possibily about 1890.
v. Celestia L. BAILEY {Clesty} was born in Elkhorn, Chicago Precinct, Douglas, Nebraska 15 October, 1874; died 17 June, 1893, Elkhorn, Chicago Precinct, Douglas, Nebraska. She may also have been known as "Sissie" and possibly was married to WICKWIRE or ROBINSON, Unknown about 1893.
vi. Lewis Samuel BAILEY was
born in Elkhorn, Chicago Precinct, Douglas, NE 1878; d. 23 April,
1949, Elkhorn, Chicago Precinct, Douglas, NE. He went by Samuel.
